Solution

If your Motorola Moto E smartphone is directing all incoming calls to voicemail, this is a widespread issue happening with the Motorola smartphones after the recent Android software update. The main solution is to factory reset the device, however here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue before resorting to a factory reset:

  • If you can’t receive calls from one specific number, verify and make sure the number isn’t blocked in your phone:
    • Open the “Contacts” app
    • Select the contact.
    • Tap the pencil icon to edit the contact.
    • Press the “Menu” icon depicting three vertical dots.
    • Make sure the option “All calls to Voicemail” is left unchecked.
    • If you can’t receive calls from multiple numbers, make sure your “Do Not Disturb” option isn’t active:
      • Slide down your notification bar and make sure the Do Not Disturb icon is off as shown below.
    • Try a reset network settings by performing the steps below:
      • Go to Settings > Backup & Reset > Reset network settings.
      • Tap on Reset Settings.
      • Your phone will reboot (this will erase your saved WiFi passwords).
