Troubleshooting an iPhone XR with Facebook that won’t load

As I said earlier, issues like this can be easily fixed because we’re dealing with a third-party app. Now, here’s what you need to do if Facebook doesn’t load or not working properly on your device.

First solution: Force restart your iPhone

The first thing you have to do is  the forced restart, especially if this is the first time you encountered the problem and if the app has been working properly prior to this issue. It is possible that the problem is caused by a pretty minor firmware issue. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button, and then quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
  2. The moment you release the volume down button, press and hold the Side or Power key until the Apple logo shows on the screen.

Your iPhone will continue the usual boot process and once it’s ready, try to launch Facebook and see if the problem still occurs.

Second solution: Uninstall Facebook and reinstall it

After doing the first procedure and the app still crashes or won’t load, then it’s time you removed the app from your iPhone. It will also remove all its associations with other applications and the firmware. If it’s just an issue with the app, then this procedure should be able to fix it. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, tap and hold on an app icon until the icons start jiggling.
  2. Tap the X on the Facebook icon.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm the deletion of the app.
  4. Once the app is successfully uninstalled, tap Done and go back to the home screen.
  5. Launch the App store.
  6. Search for Facebook, and then tap the Install icon.
  7. Wait for the app to be successfully installed on your iPhone.
  8. When the installation is finished, tap Open to launch it.

If the problem persists after this, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Reset all the settings on your iPhone XR

If Facebook still won’t load or work properly after the second solution, the problem could already be with the firmware and the app crashes could be just one of the symptoms. That’s the reason why you need to see if the settings have something to do with the problem. Follow these steps to reset all settings of your device:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Touch Reset All Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset All Settings at the bottom of the screen, and then tap Reset All Settings again to confirm.

Your iPhone will reboot after this, once it has finished rebooting, try to see if Facebook still won’t load or work properly.

Fourth solution: Factory reset your iPhone

A reset will fix any app-related problems including this one. However, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data prior to the reset because you may lose them. After the backup, follow these steps to reset your iPhone:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Tap Erase All Contents and Settings.
  5. Tap Erase Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Tap Erase iPhone again to proceed with the reset.

After the reset, set up your iPhone as a new device. I hope that we’ve been able to help you fix your iPhone XR with Facebook that’s not loading or working properly.
