Facebook Doesn’t Update The Timeline On Samsung Galaxy S22

The Facebook app is one of the applications that need to be constantly connected to its servers to download timeline updates for the account that’s currently signed in. Needless to say, a connection is needed for it to download information that’s posted on your timeline.

However, some users reported about not getting updates on their timeline even if they have Internet connection. In such a case, you will need to troubleshoot your phone and the app to learn more about the problem, what causes it and how to fix it quickly. 

With that being said, here are the things you should do: 

  1. First solution: Check your Internet connection. 


    This is the kind of problem that doesn't really impact how your phone works but it can be annoying to some Facebook users who just want to be updated with what’s happening in the world or their locality. 

    What you need to do first is, of course, to make sure that your phone is actually connected to the Internet. You can do that by launching a web browser and then visiting any website you want. 

    You can also just try downloading apps from the Play Store to see if that goes through. If it’s a connection problem, then you have to fix it before doing anything. In most cases, problems like this that’s caused by connection problems can be fixed if the Internet connection is fixed. 

    However, if you have a good and fast connection and the app cannot update your timeline, then move on to the next solution.

  2. Second solution: Restart the Facebook app. 


    After making sure your Internet connection is good, the next thing you have to do is to reload the app itself. So force stop it and then launch it again. 

    1. To do that, tap the Recent key to view the apps you recently used. 
    2. Find Facebook and then swipe up on it to close it. You can also tap Close all to force stop all recently used apps. 

    After that, launch Facebook again, make sure you’re signed into your account and try to see if the timeline is already updated because if not, then try the next solution. 

  3. Third solution: Clear the cache and data. 


    Clearing the cache and data of an app you’re having problems with will often do the trick because it will reset the app itself. Aside from that, it will also replace the cache and data files it created. 

    1. To do that, pull up the App Drawer, look for Facebook and then tap and hold on its icon until the options show 
    2. Tap the App info icon, or the lowercase “I” inside the circle. 
    3. Scroll down a bit and then tap Storage. 
    4. Tap Clear cache at the bottom of the screen. This will immediately delete the app’s cache. 
    5. Now tap Clear data and select OK to delete its data files. 

    Once the cache and data are cleared, reopen Facebook and then try to see if it still crashes at some point because if so, then you will really need to reinstall the app. 

  4. Fourth solution: Uninstall & reinstall Facebook. 


    If clearing the app’s cache and data isn’t enough, then try removing the app from your phone. It will also delete all of its installation files, which can also be the cause why the app isn’t working properly. 
    Here’s how it’s done: 

    1. To do that, pull up the App Drawer, look for Facebook and then tap and hold on its icon until the options show 
    2. Tap the App info icon, or the lowercase “I” inside the circle. 
    3. Tap Uninstall at the bottom of the screen, and then select OK to confirm you want to remove the app. 

    Once the app is uninstalled, launch the Play Store, search for Facebook and then download it.
