Fixing Camera keeps stopping error on Galaxy A10

Based on experience, you can fix the Camera keeps stopping error by yourself without any help from a technician as long as it’s not a hardware problem. Try doing the following procedures and see if your can make the camera of your Galaxy A10 work perfectly again.

First solution: Force restart  your Galaxy A10

If it’s the first time that you encountered the Camera keeps stopping error, then it’s possible that it’s just a minor glitch with the system. A glitch can cause applications to crash and this occurs more often than you think. To rule this possibility out, do this:

  1. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

If done correctly, your phone will reboot and after that, open the Camera app and see if the Camera keeps stopping error still shows up. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Clear the cache of the Camera

It’s possible that the cache used by the system to make camera run smoothly has been corrupted. When this happens, the app might crash and in this case, you get the Camera keeps stopping error. To rule this possibility out, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the screen where the APP icon is located.
  2. Tap and hold on the Instagram icon until options show.
  3. Tap App info.
  4. Touch Storage.
  5. Tap Clear cache.

After doing this, try using the camera and see if the Camera keeps stopping error would still show up and if it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Delete the data files of the Camera app

Doing this will reset the camera back to its default settings and configuration. If this is just an app issue, then this procedure will be able to fix the problem. Don’t worry though, none of your videos and pictures will be deleted if you did this. It’s just the settings that will be reverted back to default. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Go to the screen where the APP icon is located.
  2. Tap and hold on the Instagram icon until options show.
  3. Tap App info.
  4. Touch Storage.
  5. Now, tap Clear data and touch OK to confirm.

Reboot your phone after doing this procedure to refresh the memory. Once the phone has rebooted successfully, open the camera to know if the Camera keeps stopping error still shows up. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Reset settings of your device

It is important that we rule out the possibility that the problem is just due to some settings that were changed. While we don’t know where to look, there’s a procedure that will allow us to bring all settings back to default. Doing so will have a reset-like effect to your phone only that none of your files and data will be deleted so no need to create a backup. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset settings.
  3. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  4. If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
  5. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  6. The device will restart to perform the reset of settings.

Once the device has rebooted, try to see if the Camera keeps stopping error still shows up and if it still does, then you still have a couple of procedures to try.

Fifth solution: Delete the system cache

Aside from the cache created by the system for individual applications, it also has its own cache that has a great impact on its overall performance. It is always possible that this cache got corrupted and that could be the reason why the camera keeps crashing. So, delete the system cache so it will be replaced with a new one. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the phone has restarted, open the camera to see if the Camera keeps stopping error still shows up and if it does, you have to do the next procedure.

Sixth solution: Backup your files and reset your phone

Lastly, you will have to reset your phone because it could be a firmware issue affecting the camera or any other applications. Before the reset, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After the backup, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your device. After which, follow these steps:

  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

I hope that this troubleshooting guide somehow helped you fix the Camera keeps stopping error on your Samsung Galaxy A10. If the problem continues even after the reset, then it’s a hardware issue and you need to bring the phone back to the store or shop so that a technician can help you.
