Causes of iPhone 11 Wi-Fi Not Working Issue

The “iPhone 11 WiFi not working” issue has left many users exasperated, unable to leverage their devices’ full potential. This problem can be attributed to various factors that disrupt the phone’s ability to establish and maintain a stable connection.

  • Software glitches: Occasionally, software bugs or conflicts within the operating system can interfere with the Wi-Fi functionality on your iPhone 11. These glitches can prevent your device from connecting to Wi-Fi networks or cause frequent disconnections.
  • Network congestion: If you are in an area with multiple Wi-Fi networks or a crowded public network, the high level of network congestion can affect the performance of your iPhone 11’s Wi-Fi. This can lead to slow speeds or intermittent connectivity.
  • Router issues: Sometimes, the problem may not lie with your iPhone 11 but with the Wi-Fi router itself. Outdated firmware, incorrect settings, or hardware malfunctions can all contribute to Wi-Fi connectivity problems.
  • Interference from other devices: Certain electronic devices, such as cordless phones, baby monitors, or microwave ovens, emit signals that can interfere with Wi-Fi signals. If your iPhone 11 is in close proximity to such devices, it may experience connectivity issues.

Fixing an iPhone 11 WiFi Not Working Issue

Here are the things you need to do if your iPhone 11 has no Internet connection even if it’s connected to a WiFi network.

First solution: Restart network device and your iPhone

Restart network device and your iPhone

Let’s begin with a reboot. Network devices needs to be rebooted every now and then, especially if you’ve noticed that your connection has slowed down a bit or if there are instances wherein you have to unlock the screen before emails arrive or you can’t browse some sites. Also, it’s best to restart your iPhone as well to refresh its memory. Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Unplug your modem or router from the wall outlet or simply disconnect the power cord from the main unit.
  2. Leave it without power for a minute or two.
  3. While waiting, quickly press and release the Volume Up button, and then the Volume Down button.
  4. The moment you release the volume down button, press and hold the Side or Power key until the Apple logo shows on the screen.
  5. While your iPhone 11 is booting up, plug your router’s power cord back into the wall outlet or reconnect the cord to the main unit.
  6. Wait for the device to become online and your iPhone to boot up successfully,  and then let it reconnect to the network.

Once your iPhone has successfully reconnected to the network, browse some sites to see if you now have a connection. If there’s still no internet, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset the Network settings on your iPhone

Reset the Network settings on your iPhone

Before you actually do this procedure, if you have other smartphones, try to see if they can connect to your WiFi network and actually have internet connection. If they too don’t have internet connection, then it’s time called your Internet Service Provider because the problem is not in your phones. It’s possible that there’s an outage or your network device is already defective.

However, if they can connect to the internet and your iPhone 11 is the only one that can’t, then it’s time to reset the Network Settings of your device. This procedure will refresh all the network services in your iPhone as well as delete all wireless connections including Bluetooth and WiFi. If this is just a minor issue with your device, then this procedure will fix it. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Touch Reset Network Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset Network Settings at the bottom of the screen.

Your iPhone will reboot after this, once it has finished rebooting, try to see if the problem is fixed. If your iPhone still has no Internet, then move on to the next solution.

After making sure that the problem is not with your network or if your other devices can connect to the same network and have issues connecting to the internet, then the issue must only be with your iPhone, especially if it still has no internet even after resetting the network settings. What you have to do next is to create a backup of your important files and data. You may use iTunes to create a backup or connect to the Internet using cellular data to sync your data. After this, it’s time to reset your iPhone 11 that has no internet. Here’s how you do it:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Tap Erase All Contents and Settings.
  5. Tap Erase Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Tap Erase iPhone again to proceed.
  9. Now enter your Apple ID password, and then tap Erase to proceed with the reset.
  10. Wait until your iPhone has finished the reset, and then set it up as a new device.

If your iPhone still has no internet even after the reset, then your device has to be checked by a technician. Schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar and have the tech check it for you.
