Ads are important because they’re actually the reason why most of the apps and games today are free. However, there are some applications that show you more ads than actual contents. That’s the reason why you should learn how to stop pop up ads from showing on your Galaxy A5, or any Android phone for that matter.
In this post, I will show you a couple of procedures you can use to prevent pop up ads from showing. So, read on as this post may be able to help you.
Getting Rid Of Pop Up Ads
Time Needed : 5 minutes
The pop up ads that are being served to you are often personalized and are from Google. There are times when things don’t work the way they should and that might be the reason you keep seeing pop up ads sometimes. If that’s the case though, then it’s a pretty minor issue that you can fix. That said, here are the things you need to do.
- Pull the app drawer up and then tap Settings.
You may also access Settings by swiping from the top of the screen and tapping on the gear icon.
- Find and tap Accounts and backup.
This contains your Google, Samsung and other accounts.
- Tap Accounts.
This views accounts that have been set up on your phone.
- Tap your Google account.
You might find similar email addresses but look for the email that has Google underneath.
- Tap Google Account.
You will be brought to a different screen where you can edit the information of your account.
- Tap the Data & personalization tab.
Scroll down a little bit to find the Ad personalization section.
- Uncheck the Ad personalization to turn off the service.
If this is the case of the pop up ads on your phone, then it should be fixed now but if you have installed some shady apps, then that could be the reason why you have this issue. So you need to uninstall those apps.
- Go back to the home screen and then pull the app drawer up.
Then go to the screen where the app icon is located.
- Tap and hold the icon until options show.
- Tap Uninstall and hit OK to completely remove the app from your phone.
- Android 9
- Galaxy A50
Once the app is uninstalled, the pop up ads should not show up anymore. However, If the ads show up when you’re browsing some sites, then they must come from the websites you visit. Some shady sites or blogs resort to these things to earn and most of the ads are actually tricky.
There are pop up ads that want you to install some apps in the pretext that they want to help you remove the malware or virus from your phone when in reality, they’re the virus. If you have been tricked into installing something on your phone due to these pop ups, then uninstall them immediately.
Lastly, if you cannot determine where the pop ups come from, then just create a backup of your important files and data, and then reset your phone. This is the last resort but it’s the most effective solution to any app and firmware issues.
I hope that this post has been able to help you stop pop up ads on your Galaxy A50.
