Using the notification panel
Step 1: Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the Home screen. This gesture will open the Notification panel. In this panel are shortcut controls for the phone’s key features.
Step 2: From the Notification panel, tap on the Sound icon next to Wi-Fi. Doing so will set your phone to vibrate only.
Step 3: Then, tap the Vibrate icon. Doing so will switch your phone from vibrate only to mute or silent mode.
