So in this post, we will show you a step-by-step tutorial on how to pair a Bluetooth device with your iPhone.
Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Turn on your Bluetooth device and put it in pairing mode.

Most of the time, you just have to press the Bluetooth icon on the remote or on the device itself for it to enter pairing mode. And if it has LED indicators, you’ll know if it’s in pairing mode if the LED is flashing blue.

  2. In your iPhone, launch the Settings app.

You have to go back to the Home Screen and tap the Settings icon.

  3. Tap Bluetooth.

This will bring you to the screen where you can find the devices you’ve connected with or the devices that are currently ready to pair.

  4. Make sure that the Bluetooth switch is enabled.

Your iPhone will actually start scanning for nearby devices to pair with.

  5. Once it detects your Bluetooth device, tap on it.

In most cases, it will immediately be paired with your iPhone especially if you’re trying to pair a Bluetooth speaker or headset. However, if you’re pairing another smartphone or a laptop, you might be prompted to confirm the pairing request. You can do that easily for sure.

  6. Tap the Information icon next to your Bluetooth device.

It will bring you to its information page that allows you to change its name and choose a device type.

  7. Tap Name.

Now enter the name you want the Bluetooth device to use.

  8. Tap Device Type.

Choose the category the device belongs to. It can be a headphone, speaker or a hearing aid.
