Fonts or characters that are displayed on your phone are usually normal fonts. This means that they're not slant and dark. The reason why fonts have this appearance is because the default system display fonts setting is also set to normal.

If you want to add more emphasis to the display font/text, you can change the default value by heading towards the display settings menu. There, you will see the option that will make the display text/font darker and heavier.

To get started, launch the Settings app menu by tapping on the Settings/Gear icon from the Apps tray of your phone.
