Calls dropping on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Call will disconnect after a few minutes. Network issues and intermittent connection on Galaxy S6. Can’t be in a phonecall for too long without the call dropping. Call and network issue on Samsung Galaxy S6 including Galaxy S6 plus, Galaxy S6 Edge or Galaxy S6 edge plus.
If you’re experiencing issues with the network connection on your Samsung GS6, or your phone constantly drops calls, then there are steps you can take to fix the problem. This is unfortunately a common issue with the Galaxy S6 and is happening when the phone is updated to Android 5.1.1. Samsung still haven’t release an update yet to resolve the issue completely, but many people have reported the problem being reduced after turning off LTE on their smartphone and switching their network mode to 3G (WCDMA/GSM). Here is how you switch your network mode on the GS6:
- Go to Settings > Mobile Networks
Tap on Network Mode. Select the WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) option.
The only way to know if the issue is resolved after doing this is to test your Galaxy S6 for a couple of days and see if you’re still dropping calls or having network issues. Another step you can also take to fix this problem is to make sure your device is up-to-date:
- Go to Settings > About Device > Software Update and make sure your Samsung is up-to-date
If none of these options fixed the problem, then your next best option is to send your Samsung for repair under your Manufacturer’s warranty as it is likely to be a device defect.
