No Service or Emergency Calls Only on Moto E: Troubleshooting Guide

If your Moto E is showing No Service or Emergency Calls Only, make sure that you are in an area that is within your network coverage. These error messages imply that the phone is not getting any signal from the tower. Thus, services aren’t available.

Troubleshooting No Service or Emergency Calls Only on Moto E

No service on Moto E. Can’t place or receive calls and text. Emergency calls only display on Moto E. No network on Moto E.

Solution

If you are getting no service on your Moto E, no network signal bars or emergency calls only, follow these steps:

  • Go into Settings > Storage and tap on Cached Data and select ok to clear data.
     
    • Go into Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Preferred network type.
       
    • Select “2G” as your preferred network mode.
    • Turn your Moto G off completely, wait 10 seconds and then turn it back on again.
  • Go back into Preferred Network type as shown above and switch it to 3G.

  • Then select Network Operators > Search Networks.
     
  • Select your Carrier and you should connect successfully.

If your Moto E device is still showing No Service or Emergency Calls Only error message, contact your service network provider for further assistance and recommendations. There might also be an ongoing outage in your area affecting your mobile service.
