How to Fix Voicemail Button Not Working on iPhone

If you want to fix voicemail button not working on iPhone right away, a simple reset might do wonders. Simply press and release the Volume Up button quickly. Press and release the Volume Down button quickly. Lastly, press and hold the Side button for a few seconds until you see the Apple logo.

If you can’t use the voicemail feature on your iPhone, this might be caused by your voicemail number not being programmed correctly into your iPhone. Here are the steps you can take to fix this problem:

First, you will have to contact your service provider and request to get your voicemail number (Note: It’s not the same as your phone number!).
Once you have the voicemail number and are ready to program it into your iPhone, open your dialpad as if you were to place a call and enter:
*5005*86*VOICEMAIL# then hit Call/Send

Note: Replace VOICEMAIL with the voicemail number provided.
Example: *5005*86*15871234567#
After hitting Send, the iPhone screen will flash but nothing will happen. You can now test your voicemail button to see if its working.

If it doesn’t work on the first try, make sure you’re entering the correct voicemail number and try again.

Another thing that you’ll need to check is if the voicemail support is active on your plan. Contact your carrier provider and verify it with them. You can also ask if there is an ongoing server maintenance that may have been affecting voicemail services.

If you have confirmed that everything is up and running on their end and that the voicemail feature is active, report this problem to Apple support. It might need official recommendations from their end to help in fixing the voicemail button not working on iPhone.
