How to Hide Lock Screen Notification Content on Google Pixel 7

Android 13 devices including the latest Pixel series are entrenched with a feature that lets you hide notification content on the lock screen and thereby prevents anyone from viewing any sensitive information from any of the notifications you receive.

  1. To get started, open the Settings app by tapping on the gear icon from the Apps tray of the phone.

    To access the Apps tray, just swipe your finger up from the bottom of the Home screen.

  2. While in the Settings app menu, scroll to find and then tap Display.

    Doing so opens another menu with display-related options and features.

  3. Find and then tap Lock Screen from the given options to proceed.

    Another menu launches with a new set of features to customize your phone’s lock screen display and information.

  4. In the Lock screen menu, tap Privacy under What to show section.

  5. Here, you will see three main options as to how you would like notification content to be displayed on the lock screen of your device. By default, it is set to show all notification content.

    To hide lock screen notification content, tap to select Don’t show notifications at all from the given options.

You can also set your device on how you would like to get notified. 

  • All you have to do is access and manage the Notifications by heading to Settings-> Notifications menu then select Notifications on Lock Screen.

You may opt to select your phone’s notification defaults such as Show conversation, default, and silent, Hide silent conversations and notifications or Don’t show any notifications at all.

Notifications for certain apps can also be turned on or off on your Pixel phone. 

  • All you have to do is navigate to Settings-> Notifications menu then select App settings. Navigate to the Most Recent section then find the apps that recently sent you notifications. 

Just select the desired app(s) that you’d like to turn notifications on or off.

You may also opt to show sensitive content only when your phone is unlocked.
