If you’re experiencing an issue on Skype that keeps crashing after installing iOS 13.5 update, find out some simple fix on this post. Read further and get more information about the issue.

Software updates are meant to improve the performance of your device by fixing bugs and system enhancements. But this is not always the case as there are software errors that could affect the phone’s system after installing these updates. That could be the reason why there are problems reported after every release of a new software version on mobile devices.

The latest software update for iOS devices is iOS 13.5, which brings a new feature intended for the COVID-19 pandemic. Since people are wearing masks most of the time, it offers a speed  up of access to the passcode field on devices with Face ID when wearing a face mask. It also introduces the Exposure Notification API to support COVID-19 contract tracing apps from public health authorities.

Together with those updates, it also comes with an option to Facetime calls and includes bug fixes and other improvements. But Apple reminded that some features may not be available for all regions and may not be accessible on all Apple devices.

Those nice features may sound promising, but some Apple users are experiencing glitches after installing the update. One of the reported errors are the apps that keep on crashing, specifically while using Skype.

To fix this problem, I’ve mapped out some basic procedures that you can perform on your iPhone. Before performing the steps, make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or internet connection and that is getting sufficient speed.

Then swipe left or right to navigate through the apps preview. Swipe up on each app’s preview to close individual background apps.
