Twitter keeps stopping on Samsung Galaxy A10. Here’s the fix.

I have personally encountered the error ‘Twitter keeps stopping’ while I was trying to add a picture to my post on my Samsung Galaxy A10. Unfortunately, the post hasn’t been saved when I opened the app, so I tried to type the same tweet and while typing, the error once again showed up and the app closed. I tried a couple more times to open the app and the same error keeps popping up every time.

App crashes occur every now and then. Sometimes they’re just pretty minor issues that you can fix by doing some basic troubleshooting, and sometimes they’re also pretty complicated that you need to perform advanced procedures to be able to fix them. In this post, I will guide you in fixing your Galaxy A10 with ‘Twitter keeps stopping’ error. If you’re one of the owners of this phone and are currently having the same problem, continue reading because this post may be able to help you.

Fixing Galaxy A10 with ‘Twitter keeps stopping’ error

App crashes are generally minor problems that you can fix easily, especially if you’re dealing with a third party app. You can always uninstall it if the problem doesn’t go away, but of course, we want you to continue using your favorite app. So, here are the things you need to do to make Twitter work perfectly on your Galaxy A10 again…

First solution: Perform the forced restart

If the error ‘twitter keeps stopping’ popped up for the first time, it’s possible that the firmware has some minor issues. Glitches happen all the time and app crashes are just among the most common symptoms. The first thing that you have to do is to refresh your phone’s memory by doing the forced restart. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the Volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has successfully rebooted, try to open the app and see if the ‘twitter keeps stopping’ error still pops up. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Clear the cache and data of Twitter app

Doing this will reset the app back to its default settings and configuration, as well as delete and replace its cache and data files. If this is just an issue with the app, then this procedure will make it work perfectly again. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps
  4. Find and tap Twitter
  5. Tap Storage
  6. Touch Clear cache.
  7. Touch Clear data and then tap OK to confirm.

After doing this, launch the app to know if the error ‘twitter keeps stopping’ still shows.

Third solution: Uninstall Twitter and reinstall it

Twitter is being updated regularly and while updating the app may sometimes fix issues like this, there’s actually no guarantee on that. Therefore, the best thing that you have to do if the previous procedures failed to fix the problem is to uninstall Twitter from your phone to remove all its associations with the firmware and other apps. After that, reinstall it to make sure you’re using the latest version. This is how you uninstall Twitter from your Galaxy A10:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps
  4. Find and tap Twitter
  5. Tap Storage
  6. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  7. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall
  8. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.

Once it’s removed, follow these steps to reinstall it…

  1. From the home screen, pull up the app drawer.
  2. Find and then tap Google Play Store.
  3. In the search field, key in ‘twitter’ and then hit search.
  4. Tap Twitter and then touch Install.
  5. Once the installation is complete, tap Open.

If the ‘twitter keeps stopping’ error still pops up after this, then the app crashes could be just a result of a firmware issue. You have to move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Master reset your phone

Regardless of whether the app is a pre-installed or third party, as long as it continues on crashing even after doing the aforementioned procedures, a reset will be necessary as it will fix any software-related problems, provided that the firmware has not been modified in any way.

Prior to the reset though, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data for they will be deleted during the process. After the backup, remove your google account so that you won’t be locked out. Once everything is in order, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the reset is complete, you will be prompted to set up your phone. Set it up as a new device to give it a fresh start.
