Did you know that you can share your iPhone Wi-Fi password with other devices? This feature will be very useful if you were given a privilege by someone to connect to their network but needed to share the connection with your friends or other device.
Sharing the iPhone Wi-Fi password does not reveal the password itself. It will automatically be added to the password field of the device you want to share the connection from. So, it’s safe and pretty easy to do.
How to Share iPhone Wi-Fi Password
If you’re ready and want to test it out, follow the instructions below.
- Make sure the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.
This goes for both devices as the password sharing will be done from one device to another via Bluetooth. And the target device’s Wi-Fi should already be ready when the password is shared.
- The source device must already be connected to the network.
The source device is the one to share the Wi-Fi password and it must already be connected to the network properly.
- Both devices must be near each other.
If possible, place both devices side-by-side for fast data transmission.
- On the target device, launch Settings and touch Wi-Fi.
Allow your phone to scan the area and detect the same SSID (service set identifier), aka network name.
- Tap the network your device is connected to.
At this point, your devices should start communicating.
- From the source device, tap Share Password.
You will be prompted if you want to share the Wi-Fi password for the network you’re connected with the other device. When you’re finished sharing it, tap Done.
- The target device will automatically connect to the network.
You should be able to connect to the Internet after doing this.
