How to Set Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 to Read Caller Names Aloud

This post will walk you through activating the inbuilt Phone app feature in OneUI 5 devices that makes your Samsung Galaxy phone read the name of the incoming caller aloud. Here’s how to set the Galaxy Z Flip4 to read caller names aloud.

Estimate Cost : 0

Time Needed : 4 minutes

Read caller Names Aloud is a built-in feature integrated in the native Samsung Galaxy Phone app on your Samsung phone. When enabled, it reads the name of the caller aloud. This can be used as a better alternative for the typical or custom ringtones especially for the contacts that you frequently talk to.

If you're new to Android phones and wondering how to activate and use this feature on your recently procured Samsung Galaxy Flip4 device, feel free to refer to this guide.

  1. First, go to the Home screen then tap the Phone icon to launch the Phone app.

If you don’t see the Phone app icon from Home, then you will need to launch the app from the Apps screen instead. Just find the Phone icon then tap on it to proceed.

  2. In the Phone app’s main (keypad) screen, tap the three dots located on the upper-right corner.

Doing so opens a sub-menu with three options.

  3. Select Settings from the given options to continue.

You will be routed straight to the call settings menu with inbuilt features and functions you can use to manage calls.

  4. To continue, tap Answering and ending calls.

Another menu opens with relevant features and various methods to answer and end calls on your device.

  5. Tap Read caller names aloud.

On the succeeding menu, you will see a toggle to turn the feature on or off.

  6. To activate the feature, tap to turn the OFF Switch ON.

On the next screen, you will be asked to choose how you would like the Read caller names aloud feature to work.

  7. Refer to the given prompts to set whether you’d like your phone to use this feature over Bluetooth and headphones only or always.

If you choose over Bluetooth and headphones only, the read caller names aloud activates only when this condition is met.  If you choose Always, the feature works at all times until you disable it.

By then, your phone should be all set to read the names of your next callers aloud whenever you get an incoming call whether or not your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device or headphone.

The Read Caller Names feature works the same as the Samsung Caller Name announcer or Voice Caller ID in earlier Samsung Galaxy Note devices.

Should you wish to disable the feature, just repeat the same steps to head back to the Call settings menu, then toggle to disable the Read Caller Names Aloud switch as it was set by default.

And that’s how you activate the read caller names aloud feature on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 smartphone.
