To stop Nexus from randomly dialing various contacts when put in your pocket, simply set up a screen PIN or password. You can also disable “Ambient Display” feature to avoid your phone from “pocket dialing”. To learn more about the process, read further.
Ways to prevent Nexus from “pocket dialing” various phone contacts:
- Activate a password or a PIN (Head to Settings –> Security –> Screen Lock, then select PIN or Password ) Note: The steps may vary depending on the type of security you select. Follow the onscreen prompts to completely set up a PIN or Password.
- Disable Ambient Display ( Setting -> Display -> Ambient Display -> slide to turn off)
Ambient Display is a feature that lights up the screen whenever a new notification comes in, allowing you to interact with that notification. However, if the screen is not password protected, in a pocket or in a purse, any movement can result in “pocket dialing” various contacts.
If the Nexus device still randomly dialing various contacts even when a PIN is already set or the Ambient Display has been disabled, you can contact your phone manufacturer or your service provider for them to make further assessment with your device.
