GPS holds an essential role on smartphones nowadays. It provides easy access for location tagging and time management on your device. But it could be hindered by different glitches.
If you’re having issues with your GPS navigation or Google Maps on your HTC One it could be either a software issue or it could be the GPS antenna in your smartphone. Most of the time it is a software issue and you can resolve it by modifying the following settings:
- Go to Settings > Location.
- Tap on “Mode“.
- Select “High accuracy”.
- You can also download an application from the Google play store named “GPS Status and toolbox” to help increase your gps accuracy even further and help your phone find a GPS satellite faster.
- If you’re still having issues after setting the accuracy to High and downloading the GPS Status app, try performing a hard reset on your device. Make sure to create backups first before performing the steps below to factory reset your HTC One:
Turn off your phone completely.
Once the phone is powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button.
Press and hold the Power Button.
If you see the HTC logo appears on the screen, release both buttons.
Using the volumes keys, scroll to and highlight Factory Reset.
Select Factory reset by using the Power key.
If you still have GPS not tracking location accurately on HTC One, you can also consider sending your HTC smartphone for repair through your Carrier or going to a repair shop. It might be a hardware issue with the GPS antenna.
