How to Enable Profile Picture Sharing in Contacts on Galaxy Z Flip4

Profile picture sharing is one of the useful features embedded into the Contacts app on Samsung Galaxy phones. When enabled, it allows you to share your name, phone number and profile picture with all your contacts through the Contacts app.

Outlined below are the steps on how to activate the updated profile picture sharing feature on the new Galaxy Z Flip4 device. Feel free to refer to this guide when needed.

  1. First, open the Settings app menu.

    To do this, simply tap on the Settings icon from the Home screen or Apps screen of your phone. Alternatively, you can launch the quick settings panel then tap on the Settings app shortcut represented by a gear icon.

  2. In the Settings menu, scroll to find Apps then tap on it to view all installed apps on the phone.

    A list of all preloaded and downloaded applications will load up on the next screen.

  3. Find Contacts from the list of apps then tap on it to proceed.

    The Contacts app info screen will load up next.

  4. To continue, tap Contacts settings.

    Doing so will open another screen that contains relevant options and settings associated with the Contacts application.

  5. Find Profile picture sharing from the given options then tap on it to continue.

    On the next screen, you will see more details about the One UI 5 Profile picture sharing feature. On top of the feature’s overview is the main toggle to turn the feature on.

  6. By default, the feature is disabled so the switch is OFF. Simply tap the OFF switch to turn the ON position.

    When the switch turns blue or highlighted, the feature is activated.

By then, you should be able to show your contacts’ most recent profile pictures in various Samsung apps and let your contacts see your profile picture too when they add your phone number.

If you haven’t already, add your phone number so that your profile picture becomes visible by other people and thereby lets them invite you to their respective groups.

Only the saved contacts are allowed to view your profile picture so consider adding the contact(s) that you’d like to share your profile pictures with.

Profile Pictures Not Showing in Contacts?

If for some reason profile pictures are not available or shown in the contacts app on your Galaxy Z Flip 4 even with Profile picture sharing or profile sharing is already activated, verify and ensure that you are logged into your Samsung account.  Also make sure that the profile picture in use is a supported file format and not corrupted. 

Logging out and back into your Samsung account may also help. If that doesn’t help, then you may have to consider removing and setting up your Samsung account on your Galaxy phone from scratch.
