Change How Notifications Are Displayed & Don’t Show Previews In iOS 16

By default, notifications are stacked on the iPhone. While in most cases, such a setting is already enough for you to be able to know what the notification is all about, it’s always a good thing to make your device work the way you want it.

So you can change how the notifications are displayed and whether or not you want to show the previews. Don’t worry, the procedure isn’t complicated. In fact, you should be able to change it in just a few taps. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Go back to the Home Screen and tap Settings.

This will launch the Settings app that will allow you to change some settings in your device.

  2. Find and tap Notifications.

This will show you the screen where you can change some settings with regards to the notifications your iPhone receives.

  3. To only show the number of Notifications on the Lock Screen, tap Count.

With this option, you will be able to know immediately how many notifications are unread.

  4. You may select List as well.

This will show you the most recent notifications you’ve received in a list.

  5. If you don’t want to show the preview of your Notifications, tap Show Previews.

This will bring you the screen where you can change how the Notifications are shown on the lock screen.

  6. Tap When Unlocked.

This will only show the previews if your iPhone is unlocked, otherwise, they will just appear as a number count or list without previews.

  7. Tap Never.

This will disable all notification previews regardless of whether the device  is locked or unlocked.
