To fix Samsung Galaxy that keeps the car mode turning on by itself, disable In-Pocket Detection. For a step-by-step procedure on how it is done, continue reading this post and be guided.
When your phone is on car mode or driving mode, it sets your device to hands-free mode. Which means it responds to text messages informing the sender that you are unable to respond as you are currently driving.
The car mode can be automatically enabled when your phone is on In-Pocket Detection mode. When the In-Pocket Detection is enabled, the phone uses an infrared sensor found near the camera and detects when the phone is inside a pocket or a bag. Thus, the built-in proximity sensor of the device automatically lock the phone or set to driving mode when it is inside your pocket.
Car Mode Turning On By Itself on Samsung Galaxy
It can be very annoying when the car mode randomly activates itself. But this can be easily rectified by disabling the In-Pocket Detection using these steps:
- To fix this issue, go into Settings.
- Select the “My Device” tab and tap on Display.
- Disable In-Pocket Detection.
If that does not fix your issue, try the following (we have verified that it works) :
- Grab a dry brush.
- Clean the usb connection on the bottom of the device with the brush.
- Restart your phone and test.
If none of these worked, try performing a backup and restore of your device.
If the car mode is still turning on by itself, you may contact your phone manufacturer or visit their nearest store and have your device checked by their attending technician.
