What To Do If Apps Crash on iPhone 12 Mini

In this troubleshooting guide, we will show you what to do if apps crash on iPhone 12 mini and understand the reason why such a problem occurs. It can be pretty annoying but as long as it’s a software issue, you will be able to fix it on your own. Read on to learn more.

When an application starts to crash on your iPhone 12 Mini, it’s possible that the problem is limited to the app in question. If that’s the case, then you can simply uninstall the app and then reinstall it. Most of the time, it will fix the problem. However, if there are more than one app that keeps crashing, then it’s possibly a firmware issue. Here’s what you should do:

First solution: Close all apps and do the forced restart

This can be due to some apps that stopped working. So the first thing you need to do is to close all applications that are still running in the background, and then refresh your device’s memory by doing the Forced Restart. This will also reload all apps and services. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and stop at the middle.
  2. Swipe up on each app preview to close them one after another.
  3. To force restart your device, quickly press and release the Volume Up button, and then the Volume Down button.
  4. Immediately after that, press and hold the Power key for 8 seconds. This will trigger your iPhone to shut down and power back up.
  5. When the Apple logo shows on the screen, release the Power key and allow the device to continue the boot process.

After the reboot, try to open as many apps as you’d like to know if the problem is fixed.

Second solution: Reset all the settings on your device

If the first solution failed to fix the problem, then the next thing you have to do is to reset all your iPhone’s settings. It’s possible that the apps got affected with some appropriate settings. Since we don’t know which settings need to be corrected, it’s better to just bring all the settings back to their default values. Here’s how you do that:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Touch Reset All Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  6. Tap Reset All Settings at the bottom of the screen, and then tap Reset All Settings again to confirm.

Your iPhone will reboot after this, once it has finished rebooting, try to use the phone as you normally would to see if the performance has returned to normal.

Third solution: Factory reset your iPhone

Your last resort in fixing this problem is to reset your iPhone. A factory reset will fix any software-related problem including this one. However, before you actually do that, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data, because they will be deleted. Once you’re ready, follow these steps to reset your iPhone:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Find and tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then touch Reset.
  4. Tap Erase All Contents and Settings.
  5. Tap Erase Now.
  6. If prompted, enter your security lock.
  7. Tap Erase iPhone at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Tap Erase iPhone again to proceed.
  9. Now enter your Apple ID password, and then tap Erase to proceed with the reset.
  10. Wait until your iPhone has finished the reset, and then set it up as a new device.

The apps should be working properly now that you’ve reset your iPhone 12 Mini.
