How to Activate Alternate Calendar on Galaxy Z Flip4

This post will walk you through configuring the One UI 5 Samsung Calendar app to use a secondary (alternative) calendar. Here’s a quick guide to activate an alternate calendar on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 device.

Estimate Cost : 0

Time Needed : 3 minutes

The S Planner comes with different calendars that you can use as alternatives to the default calendar. There are five alternative or supplementary calendars that you can use and add to the default layout in the calendar to supplement the Julian calendar dates with dates from another kind of calendar.

If you want to get this feature a try on your recently acquired Galaxy Z Flip 4 device, then feel free to refer to this quick guide.

  1. First, open the Settings app.

To do so, simply head over to the Home or Apps screen then tap on the gear-shaped icon. You can also launch the settings app through the quick settings panel.

  2. In the Settings menu, scroll to find then tap Apps.

Doing so opens another screen with a list of all available apps on your phone.

  3. Scroll to find Calendar from the list then tap on it to proceed.

The Calendar app info screen opens next.

  4. To continue, tap Calendar settings.

Another menu opens with features and settings relevant to the S Planner or Samsung Calendar app.

  5. Navigate to the Optional information section then tap Alternate calendar.

A list of all other alternative calendars will load up on the next screen.

  6. Find the calendar that you’d like to use as an alternative then tap to select it.

Among the available options include Korean lunar, Chinese lunar, Vietnamese lunar, Hijri and Shamsi.

Your recent changes will automatically be saved and applied to the built-in calendar app on your Galaxy Z Flip 4. That said, the type of calendar used on your phone’s calendar app will then be based from the standard Gregorian calendar to the Korean lunar calendar or any from the other alternate calendar you’ve selected.

You will see the changes when you open the Calendar app again as it already has the alternate characters corresponding to each date.

Using In-App Settings

The Calendar app settings menu can also be accessed and managed from within the app itself.

  • To do so, simply open the Calendar app then tap on the three bars (menu) icon located on the top-left corner.
  • A side menu opens with a list of relevant information. To access the Calendar app settings menu, simply tap the gear icon on the top-right corner of the side menu.

You will then routed straight the Calendar settings with the same options and features you can use and manage through the Settings app.

And that’s how you activate the alternate calendar on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 S Planner (calendar) app.
